Dayu Electronics Supports Gas Detection: Air Transducer Assisted Volatilization Solution Enters Validation Stage
In July 2026, a detection equipment company approached Dayu Electronics with a specific need: they wanted to improve the volatilization efficiency of low-volatility gases adhering to walls or skin, enabling faster gas sample collection and analysis. The original solution used a heating hood at 60°C to accelerate volatilization, but the results were unsatisfactory and the high temperature posed risks of skin burns or wall damage.
They wanted to introduce an ultrasonic module that uses ultrasonic cavitation and micro-vibration to assist gas volatilization, mounted at the center of the heating hood and working together with the heating function.

Selection process: trade-offs from 21K to 40K/33K
The initial plan was to use a 21K air transducer because of its lower frequency, longer wavelength, and stronger cavitation effect. However, tests showed the 21K transducer was too heavy; the overall handheld device was noticeably heavy and affected user experience. After comprehensive consideration, we recommended 40K and 33K air transducers paired with a high-frequency development board. This combination keeps total weight under 500 g, making handheld operation lightweight, while the frequency still provides the vibration intensity required to assist volatilization.

Technical solution: increasing single-pulse energy while managing heat dissipation
The development board uses intermittent transmission mode. To increase energy density per transmission, the single transmission duration is extended to 1 ms, allowing the transducer to release sufficiently strong acoustic energy in a short time. At the same time, because prolonged high-load driving can cause transducer heating, the transmit interval is set to 5 ms to avoid damage—i.e., a 1 ms burst is emitted every 5 ms. This ensures sufficient energy per action while leaving adequate cooling time for the transducer, balancing efficiency and reliability.

Current progress
The project is still in the validation and development stage, and the specific gas volatilization improvement is being experimentally tested. Dayu Electronics will continue to follow up and support the customer with subsequent data collection and effect evaluation. If there is new progress, we will update this case as soon as possible.
