Application Case Study of Dayu Electronics Hydrophones in Underwater Pipeline Leak Detection

I. Background: This originates from the safety maintenance needs of pipeline systems in complex underwater environments, including offshore oil and gas development, urban water supply, and subsea transportation. As underwater pipelines continue to expand in scale, traditional manual diving operations face challenges such as depth limitations, high safety risks, and short operational windows, while optical detection methods often fail in turbid water due to poor visibility. Consequently, underwater inspection robots equipped with multiple sensors have emerged to replace humans in performing tasks such as inspecting inner and outer pipe walls, locating leaks, cleaning, and simple repairs under deep-sea, strong current, low-temperature, and zero-visibility conditions, thereby improving inspection efficiency and safety, and serving as critical technical equipment for ensuring the long-term reliable operation of underwater pipelines. Application Cases of Dayu Electronics IP68 Ultrasonic Water Level Meter in Various Humid Environments

In scenarios such as sewer manholes, reservoirs, and natural rivers, the highly humid, moisture-laden, enclosed, and dim working conditions can easily cause issues like water ingress, moisture accumulation, difficult commissioning, and data drift in monitoring equipment, making it hard for ordinary level meters to operate stably. Therefore, the core of selection in humid environments lies in the sealing protection rating, environmental adaptability, and commissioning convenience. To address various complex humid monitoring scenarios, Fuzhou Dayu Electronics has developed the IP68 Ultrasonic Water Level Meter, which adopts a fully sealed integrated protective structure to completely isolate water vapor and moisture intrusion. It can operate stably for long periods in high-humidity, underground, and open-air water-contact environments, eliminating failures caused by moisture and shortened service life, making it suitable for harsh outdoor and underground monitoring scenarios. Core Advantage 1: IP68 fully sealed integrated protection, unaffected by deep water immersion.

Dayu Electronics Bridge Scour Monitoring Sensor Application Case at Yaohe, Gansu

I. Project Background Located in Pingliang City, Yaohe in Gansu is a tributary of the Jinghe River. The basin experiences significant seasonal precipitation variations, with flood season (July–September) rainfall accounting for over 60% of the annual total. During flood periods, flow velocities can reach 3.5 m/s, and the water carries large amounts of sediment and gravel, posing a serious scour risk to bridge foundations along the river. Previously, bridge maintenance units relied primarily on a traditional monitoring model of “quarterly manual underwater inspection + flood-season surface echo sounding,” which presented three core challenges: First, during flood season, the turbulent, high-sediment flow made underwater operations extremely hazardous, preventing real-time monitoring; second, manual measurements produced highly scattered data, making it difficult to capture the dynamic evolution of scour holes, and two traffic control incidents occurred due to delayed warnings; third, monitoring costs were high, with annual underwater inspection costs exceeding 180,000 RMB per bridge.

Dayu Electronics Open Channel Flowmeter Application Case at Jiaozuo Wastewater Treatment Plant Inlet and Outlet

I. Project Background: Jiaozuo Wastewater Treatment Plant has a designed treatment capacity of 120,000 m³/d, primarily serving urban domestic sewage and industrial wastewater from three industrial parks. The effluent complies with the Grade A standard of the "Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants." Before the plant's upgrade in 2025, two major pain points existed in flow monitoring at the inlet and outlet: Inlet: The original in-line electromagnetic flowmeter had a maximum measurement error of 18% due to long-term non-full-pipe flow and large amounts of floating debris, failing to provide accurate data for process adjustment. Outlet: The original open channel lacked standardized flow measurement facilities, making manual flow measurement inefficient and data delayed, unable to meet the real-time flow upload requirements of environmental authorities.

Dayu Electronics Handheld Ultrasonic Depth Sounder Application Case for Water Level Measurement in Bridge Cofferdam Tubes

In deep-water foundation construction within steel pipe pile cofferdams, ensuring the safety of the cofferdam structure is the foremost prerequisite for project progress. During construction, the water level inside the tubes is typically pumped down to the design elevation of -4.3 meters, after which the water level inside the tubes and the changes in the tube bottom elevation are monitored daily. Throughout the entire cofferdam construction period, the difference between the water level inside the tubes and the external river water level (i.e., the "hydraulic head difference") must be closely monitored at all times. If the hydraulic head difference becomes too large, the severe imbalance between internal and external pressure can easily lead to structural deformation of the cofferdam, joint leakage, and in severe cases, catastrophic safety accidents such as piping. Therefore, accurate and real-time water level data is the core basis for guiding on-site construction and ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. Dayu Electronics Case Study: Application of Externally Mounted Ultrasonic Level Sensor on Bellow-Type Oil Conservator

1. Background: The application of externally mounted ultrasonic level gauges on transformer oil conservators is primarily aimed at solving long-standing pain points of traditional invasive oil level gauges, such as "false oil level," oil leakage, difficult maintenance, and high retrofit costs. Traditional solutions are prone to serious inaccuracies due to issues like stuck floats or blocked breather pipes, while open-hole designs cannot avoid leakage risks from seal aging. This is especially critical for aging transformers or key equipment that cannot be easily taken offline or perforated, where the cost and safety risks of maintenance oil drainage or even "bell lifting" (removing the transformer cover) are extremely high. 2. Product Selection: The Dayu Electronics externally mounted ultrasonic level gauge utilizes ultrasonic technology and requires no perforation of the oil conservator, allowing direct "hot work-free" installation, fundamentally eliminating leakage risks and significantly reducing retrofit difficulty and live-line operation risks. It offers minimal measurement error and supports temperature compensation, providing high-accuracy and high-reliability level data. It can also serve as a portable independent verification tool for calibrating false oil levels, or integrate interfaces like 4-20mA and RS485 for remote centralized monitoring and intelligent alarm, making it especially suitable for scenarios in booster stations, substations, and other locations where transformers cannot be easily taken offline or structurally modified. The promotion of this technology is essentially a necessity in the transition from traditional time-based inspection and maintenance to preventive and intelligent operation in power and critical industrial sectors.

Dayu Electronics: Dedicated Underwater Obstacle Avoidance Solution for Dredging Robot M80

In underwater dredging operations, turbid water and suspended sediment are often the "invisible killers": traditional cameras fail completely due to blocked light, leaving the robot unable to accurately determine its position or avoid obstacles such as tank walls and foreign objects. At best, this slows down operations; at worst, it causes equipment collisions and damage, compromising both dredging efficiency and safety. In such turbid water, light is unreliable, but sound waves work. Ultrasonic obstacle avoidance sensors are specifically designed for this scenario. They do not rely on vision but measure distance by emitting sound waves and receiving echoes. No matter how murky the water or how heavy the sediment, they can still "see" the surrounding environment clearly.

Dayu Electronics Doppler Flowmeter in Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park Sewage Pipe Network Monitoring Retrofit Solution

In April 2026, our technical team visited Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park to provide on-site guidance on abnormal flow monitoring in the sewage pipe network. Through diagnosis and optimization of the original installation scheme, we successfully resolved the issue where the open-channel flowmeter paired with a Parshall flume was submerged in the inspection well and unable to measure accurately, providing replicable field experience for online monitoring of urban sewage pipe networks. 1. Project Background and Original Problem: Ultrasonic Doppler flowmeters are widely used for real-time monitoring of water level, flow velocity, and flow rate in urban rivers, main agricultural irrigation canals, and urban sewage/stormwater pipe networks. They are core equipment for water utility operations and environmental supervision. The monitoring point at Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park is a DN600 circular sewage discharge pipe with a typical water level of approximately 500 mm. The original installation used an open-channel flowmeter + Parshall flume at the 600 mm diameter inspection well opening. As the water level rose, the Parshall flume channel was completely submerged, preventing the flowmeter from accurately measuring instantaneous and cumulative flow rates, rendering the monitoring data invalid and impacting sewage discharge control and data reporting.
