April 15 National Security Education Day – Safeguarding National Security, Building a Harmonious Society
1. What is national security?
According to Article 2 of the National Security Law, national security refers to the state in which the state power, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, the well-being of the people, sustainable economic and social development, and other major national interests are relatively free from danger and free from internal and external threats, as well as the capacity to maintain a state of sustained security.
2. What aspects does national security cover?
To reflect the requirements of the holistic approach to national security, the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China specifies national security tasks in areas including political security, homeland security, military security, economic security, cultural security, social security, science and technology security, information security, ecological security, resource security, and nuclear security.
