Dayu Smart Survey Rod Enhances Urban Road Network Management, Delivering Downhole Water Level Data with a Single Insertion
In recent years, urbanization has led to a dense and widespread distribution of manhole covers across major ring roads and main thoroughfares. Meanwhile, manholes are prone to moisture and flooding, with sewage and debris flowing through, making power supply for water level monitoring equipment difficult and signal quality poor, resulting in challenges in obtaining pipe network water level monitoring data. Now, the Smart Survey Rod effectively monitors water levels, sediment thickness, and more. It is portable and highly maneuverable, making inspections convenient.

For example, when needing to monitor water levels and sediment in manholes, the Smart Survey Rod enables data to be obtained with a single insertion and uploaded to the cloud; using one rod, water depth, sediment depth, well depth, and inspection cover elevation data can be acquired at once, with the RTK head integrating data collection and transmission modules to upload measurement data directly to the cloud.

The design is as follows:
Two battery compartments with wireless transmission modules and one wireless receiving module are designed. Each battery compartment is fixed together with an IP68 water level meter and an M50 ultrasonic sensor, responsible for powering the sensors and collecting measurement values. The other wireless receiving module is placed inside the RTK head, enabling self-powering and wireless transmission of sensor data, avoiding the hassle of routing cables inside the rod.
