The Doppler Flowmeter You Never Expected [Dayu Electronics]
Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter is a flow measuring instrument based on the acoustic Doppler effect principle. It uses ultrasonic transducers to detect flow velocity with ultrasonic waves. The measurement point is in front of the probe, without disturbing the flow field. It offers high measurement accuracy, wide range, and can measure both weak and strong currents. It has high resolution and fast response, and can measure instantaneous or average flow velocity. The measurement is linear, and the calibration curve is stable. It has no mechanical rotating parts, so there are no issues with sediment blockage or weed entanglement. The probe is robust and durable, not easily damaged, and easy to operate.

How is the water level determined? On the surface of the current meter, there is a porous metal device, which is the instrument used for calculating the average water level - the pressure sensor. The current meter uses the pressure sensor to measure the difference between underwater pressure and surface pressure, and calculates the pressure value based on the relationship between the pressure difference and water depth.

How is the external pressure known? By observing the cable at the outlet of the current meter, you will find that one wire is slightly different from the others - a red hollow air tube. This is the communication path between the pressure sensor and the outside world. Through this air tube, the external pressure is transmitted to the inside of the sensor, and combined with the pressure measured by the sensor underwater, the pressure difference is obtained, thereby calculating the average water level.

Advantages of the Doppler flowmeter:
● All-in-one design that simultaneously measures average flow velocity, water depth, and water temperature
● Uses the velocity-area method for flow measurement, with no head loss and no need for standard weirs or flumes.
● Uses the ultrasonic Doppler principle to measure flow velocity and discharge, with high accuracy and low starting velocity.
● No mechanical rotor structure, so it has no impact on the flow state, and measurement is more precise.
● Built-in temperature sensor to compensate for the effect of water temperature on sound speed.
● Can measure instantaneous flow and cumulative flow.
● Uses frequency-domain Doppler analysis algorithm for stable, reliable, and real-time data.
● Simple installation without auxiliary engineering structures
