Ultrasonic open channel flowmeter features flow display, totalization, control, transmission, and power-off protection. It is mainly suitable for measuring agricultural irrigation flow, ecological flow of hydropower stations, etc.

The design principle of the ultrasonic open channel flowmeter is based on the geometric relationship between the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the medium and the average speed of the measured medium and sound waves. The ultrasonic flowmeter is a non-contact device that can be used in combination with an ultrasonic water level gauge. It is suitable for open and wide water areas and causes no interference or resistance to the fluid. Therefore, it has been widely applied in open channel flow measurement.

The ultrasonic open channel flowmeter was applied at the reservoir discharge gate in Fengcheng City, Jiangxi Province, to monitor the water release volume. The customer reported excessive flow or no data at the site. After the technician arrived, it was found that the instrument parameters were incorrectly set. After re-setting the parameters, the data returned to normal.

As follows:
1. Find the flowmeter menu "Other Parameters" - 20mA flow value and 4mA flow value, and check what they correspond to in cubic meters per hour.
2. Then find the 4mA and 20mA flow values on the data acquisition instrument, and check what they correspond to in cubic meters per hour.
3. Change the 4mA flow value and 20mA flow value of the flowmeter and the data acquisition instrument to the same values.
4. Note: The 20mA flow value should be set according to the maximum hourly flow at the site.
For example: The actual maximum hourly flow is 203 cubic meters per hour.
Change the 20mA flow value on the flowmeter and the data acquisition instrument to an integer slightly larger than 203,
such as: 210, 220
After these four steps, the machine can display normally.
