Preconditions for Using a Non-Weir/Non-Flume Open Channel Flow Meter [Dayu Electronics]
Non-weir/non-flume open channel flow meter features flow display, totalization, control, transmission, and power-off protection. It is mainly suitable for measuring irrigation water flow in farmland and ecological flow at hydropower stations. Its advantage is that no baffles, weirs, or flumes are required in the channel; the flow rate can be calculated simply by measuring the water level in the open channel. This series of instruments directly measures the water level height in the channel or trough and calculates the flow rate based on the water level-flow relationship and relevant condition coefficients.

Preconditions for use:
1. The site channel is a standard rectangular, trapezoidal, U-shaped channel, or circular pipe.

2. If the upstream gate is closed or the pump stops supplying water, the water in the channel at the installation point will drain away without pooling.

3. The upstream of the installation point must have a straight channel with a length 10 times the channel width, and the downstream must have a straight channel with a length 5 times the channel width, to ensure smooth water flow.

4. If there are weeds, debris, stones, etc., in the channel at the installation point, they need to be cleaned up.
