Manholes are a major component of rainwater and sewage drainage pipe networks. They are a key focus in the construction, operation, and maintenance observation of daily urban intelligent drainage systems. Manhole safety monitoring can effectively prevent and optimize drainage management systems, achieving intelligent peak-load drainage, saving energy, and reducing property losses during flood seasons. Urban manhole monitoring currently includes: manhole water level monitoring, manhole cover status monitoring, and manhole pipe gallery flow monitoring. The manhole level gauge, commonly known as the sewer level gauge, is an instrument used in municipal pipe networks to monitor water level changes in facilities such as drainage wells, rainwater wells, sewage wells, and inspection wells. Real-time measurement data can help municipal authorities effectively arrange and deploy flood prevention and waterlogging control efforts.
The ultrasonic manhole level gauge uses ultrasonic principles to automatically collect real-time liquid levels in pipe networks. Data is automatically uploaded to the server via wireless communication. When the communication signal is interfered with, data is not lost but is automatically stored in static memory.

When the communication signal is restored, data is retransmitted to the server. The device is powered by a large-capacity rechargeable lithium battery, requiring no external power supply. It automatically alarms when voltage is low, reducing installation and maintenance workload. The power supply is reliable and durable: under conditions of one measurement every 30 minutes with one upload, it can operate continuously for about 6 months. The battery is rechargeable, and only spare batteries need to be replaced, with old batteries brought back for recharging, saving operation and maintenance costs. The device requires no on-site calibration and has good stability. With an IP68 protection rating and corrosion-resistant materials, immersion in water will not cause device failure. The manhole level gauge can be installed and firmly fixed at the bottom of a manhole, or installed and fixed at the manhole opening, to monitor water level changes inside the manhole, promptly detecting pipe network siltation or blockage.
