Low-Power Manhole Level Gauge Applied to Urban Sewer Manhole Level Monitoring [Dayu Electronics]
Low-power manhole level gauge is applied to manhole level monitoring in the urban sewer system of Nanyang City, Henan Province, providing early warning of water accumulation and flooding. Powered by a 3.6V battery and using 4G mobile communication, the level data is pushed to the customer platform. Depending on the frequency and interval of data transmission, the battery can last 1-3 years. On-site commissioning is simple: just connect via Bluetooth with a mobile phone app and configure the device according to the actual parameter requirements.

This level gauge consists of a main unit box, a probe, a submersible level transmitter, and an antenna. The main unit box is equipped with 2 lithium batteries, with a 3.6V supply voltage. With data upload and acquisition every 5 minutes, it can operate for 2-3 years, with a working time of up to 26,000+ hours. It is extremely power-efficient, eliminating the need for external power supply in remote or manhole environments where electricity is inconvenient. The product is compact and can be installed in many confined spaces. The probe has an IP68 protection rating, so submersion in water will not affect its performance, ensuring normal operation. With Bluetooth connectivity via mobile phone, relevant data can be conveniently viewed directly on the phone for easier operation.

Since the low-power manhole level gauge is sealed inside the manhole for long periods, moisture can accumulate and cause dust or sediment to solidify on the probe surface, weakening the signal strength. If abnormal data is observed, on-site inspection should be performed. If the submersible level transmitter works in turbid sewage for a long time, clogging may occur. Please perform regular cleaning based on site conditions. During on-site maintenance, the spacing of the sensors must not be altered; otherwise, the sensor parameters need to be reconfigured.

Regarding battery maintenance, based on theoretical estimates and actual testing, the battery has a service life of 2 years under specified environmental conditions. If the battery is over-discharged due to other reasons, the manufacturer can replace it, or you can replace it yourself. Simply open the main unit box cover and the battery compartment cover to perform the replacement. After reopening the cover, ensure that the rubber gasket on the main unit housing is properly seated before tightening the screws.
