Compact ultrasonic level gauges are widely used for level and volume measurement in tanks, pools, and reservoirs, as well as for flow measurement in open channels. In practical applications, many interfaces are inaccessible, such as environments that are corrosive to measuring equipment (acids, alkalis), contaminated (sewage), or contain substances that cause adhesion to measuring devices (adhesives). Since the measurement technology of the compact ultrasonic level gauge is based on the non-contact ultrasonic principle, it is suitable for liquid and material level positions that cannot be physically accessed.

Nowadays, many liquids are stored in closed containers, and many are volatile, flammable, explosive, or highly corrosive, thus requiring non-contact measurement. Developing ultrasonic level instruments that do not require openings in the measured container to achieve non-contact measurement is the development direction for detecting the levels of volatile, flammable, explosive, and similar liquids in closed containers.

Ultrasonic level instruments are the fastest-developing type of non-contact level instruments. This technology is based on the propagation speed of ultrasound in air and the principle of reflection upon encountering the measured object's surface. Intelligent ultrasonic level instruments come with a powerful intelligent echo analysis software package. It can filter out various interferences, identify multiple echoes, and analyze signal strength, ambient temperature, and other relevant information, ensuring accurate readings even under disturbed conditions.

Ultrasonic level gauges have broad applicability, capable of using gas, liquid, or solid media for sound conduction based on the needs of different measurement scenarios. They can be used to measure the level of waterways and reservoirs, as well as the level of closed containers such as LPG tanks and chemical towers. Since ultrasonic level gauges have no moving parts, they are free from mechanical wear and mechanical failure, thus offering higher reliability and longer service life than most contact-type level instruments. The measuring device is simple in structure, requires no additional auxiliary facilities, and is convenient to install, operate, and maintain.
