Ultrasonic Mud Level Meter Used in Interception Wells for Mud Level Detection in Anhui Province

       The ultrasonic mud level meter was used in Fuyang City, Anhui Province, to detect mud levels in interception wells. When the mud level reaches a certain height, an alarm triggers to arrange desilting. The on-site customer reported that the instrument always displayed negative values or full-scale readings.

When the technician arrived on site, it was found that many installation points had a height of only 30 cm, while the probe's blind zone was 40 cm. The probe was installed within the blind zone. After raising the installation height, the instrument returned to normal operation, with installation at a height of 70 cm.

The main cause was that the mud level rose too high into the blind zone, and a small portion was due to scaling on the probe from prolonged submersion in water. After cleaning the bottom of the probe, the readings were restored. Since the water level on site is relatively low and the installation height is limited, desilting can only be initiated once the sludge reaches the limited height. After adjustments, the equipment has been operating normally.
