Dayu Ultrasonic Sludge Level Meter Applied to Sediment Thickness Monitoring in Secondary Clarifier of Power Plant Desulfurization
Ultrasonic sludge level meter is a non-contact, easy-to-install and maintain instrument for measuring sludge thickness in fixed containers. Its working principle is to detect the underwater sludge level through liquid propagation.

When selecting the sensor installation position, the following standards should be followed:
● Keep the sensor perpendicular to the sludge surface and the tank bottom.
● No obstacles should be present within the emission range directly below the probe to avoid blockage and reflection of the ultrasonic signal.
● The probe should be installed away from gas bubbles caused by sudden flow velocity changes and active floating solids to ensure accurate and stable measurement.
● The probe should be installed away from the inlet and outlet.
● The sensor probe should be fully submerged in water. If the tank wall is vertical and the surface is flat, determine the distance from the tank wall according to the table below.
● If the tank wall is uneven, or there are objects such as brackets or pipes, increase the distance from the wall to avoid interference with measurement.
For tanks, bracket installation can be used. Pay attention to the load-bearing capacity of the bracket and maintain a certain distance between the sensor and the tank wall.
