Dayu Electronics Integrated Ultrasonic Level Meter Applied to Sewage Reservoir Water Level Measurement
For liquid level measurement in sewage reservoirs, ultrasonic level meters, radar level meters, or hydrostatic level meters can be used:
1. Depending on the sewage inlet location, if the on-site water level fluctuation is minimal and the water surface has no foam or only slight foam, an ultrasonic level meter can be selected for level measurement. If the on-site water level fluctuates significantly and there is heavy foam on the water surface, a radar level meter or hydrostatic level meter is recommended.
2. The following on-site scenario is for sewage water level measurement, with the discharge outlet located inside the basin and an inspection ladder on the right side. At this point, we need to calculate the ultrasonic level meter's emission radiation area based on the total operating range. As a rule of thumb, the unobstructed emission range can be obtained by multiplying the total range by 0.12. Based on this emission range, we provide the customer with installation recommendations to ensure proper operation.

As shown in the figure above, the bracket is only 20 cm from the side wall, and the probe's emission surface is less than 20 cm from the side wall. The on-site operating range is 6.5 meters (the customer selected an 8-meter range when ordering). When the water level drops below two meters, the level meter's readings begin to fluctuate, and at this point, the ultrasonic readings start to show errors.

At this point, we recommended that the customer extend the installation position 10 cm further toward the opposite bank. After this improvement, the on-site measurement data is now accurate.
