Dayu Electronics: What to Do When There Are Strong Interference Sources Around the Ultrasonic Level Meter?

① Check the devices sharing the same power supply as the meter and ensure proper electromagnetic shielding. Do not share the same power supply with frequency converters or motors.
② If sharing the same power supply with frequency converters or motors is unavoidable, use a 220VAC-to-220VAC isolation transformer to filter out electromagnetic interference from the power supply. Note that an isolation transformer can only block part of the electromagnetic interference, not all of it.
If, after installing the isolation transformer, you still detect significant ripple or interference such as group pulses above 2000V, use a linear power supply for secondary filtering to resolve the issue.
③ When connecting the meter's 4-20mA or RS485 output signals to devices that may cause interference, such as frequency converters or PLCs, it is best to add a signal isolator in between.
④ Ensure the meter is properly and reliably grounded, preferably with a dedicated ground connection. Do not share a ground with other equipment on site. If the ground is shared and other connected devices have strong interference, it can travel through the ground wire to the meter.
⑤ If there are interference sources such as frequency converters, motors, or AC contactors nearby, maintain a distance of at least 5 meters from these devices to reduce electromagnetic interference transmitted through the air.
