How to Extend the Adapter Pipe Used with Dayu Electronics Ultrasonic Level Meters

Ultrasonic level meter: a minimum distance must be maintained between the probe and the surface of the measured medium, commonly known as the blind zone. However, if this minimum distance cannot be guaranteed on site, an extended adapter pipe needs to be installed on the container. So how should the adapter pipe be extended when measuring liquids?

Try to keep the inner wall of the adapter pipe smooth, and do not submerge the pipe into the medium to prevent contamination or adhesion of the medium to the pipe's inner wall. Cut a 45° bevel at the bottom of the pipe to avoid strong echoes, and the ratio of the pipe height to its inner diameter should be ≤ 5:3.

For non-adhesive media, the extended adapter pipe can be immersed in the medium for a long time (provided it is not corroded by the liquid and no debris adheres to the inner wall), which makes the measurement more accurate because it is not affected by other devices inside the container. The inner diameter of the adapter pipe should be as large as possible, and the beveled cut should remain smooth.
