Dayu Electronics: What to Do When an Open Channel Flowmeter Is Installed Without a Baffle?

Dayu Electronics sometimes encounters installation conditions for ultrasonic open channel flowmeters where no baffle of any kind is added. Customers may report that the measured values are either too high or too low (the non-contact probe cannot determine whether the water is flowing; it only measures the water level, which means that when there is standing water or the water is not flowing, the flow rate continues to accumulate). So how should this situation be resolved?

Solution: This can be resolved by adjusting the correction coefficient C value in the settings (9 Weir/Flume Type → 4 Parshall Flume → Correction Coefficient C) to achieve the value the customer wants. Alternatively, a flume with a baffle (such as a rectangular weir) can be used; using a Parshall flume will provide higher measurement accuracy.
