How to Resolve Erratic Data Jumping in Dayu Electronic Open Channel Flowmeters
A customer in Chongqing reported on-site that the ultrasonic open channel flowmeter data was jumping erratically, even measuring flow when there was no water flow.
Dayu Electronic technicians arrived at the installation site of the ultrasonic open channel flowmeter and found that the flowmeter was measuring the wall of the Parshall flume, which caused the erratic data jumping.
Solution: The site had a No. 2 Parshall flume installed. We changed the response speed to slow and set the probe type to 1. At this point, data still jumped occasionally, which we found was caused by resonance. During installation, only one side had been padded with a rubber ring. After adding the rubber ring padding, after half a day of observation, the instrument's data returned to normal.
