Dayu Electronics Open Channel Flowmeter Applied at a Wastewater Treatment Plant in Laibin, Guangxi
A wastewater treatment plant in Wuxuan County, Laibin City, Guangxi Province uses Dayu Electronics ultrasonic open channel flowmeter. After a period of operation, it was reported that the readings from the open channel flowmeter at the outlet and the electromagnetic flowmeter at the inlet were inconsistent, with occasional large fluctuations in values.
When Dayu Electronics technical staff arrived on site, they found the actual situation was as follows: the electromagnetic flowmeter at the inlet operates intermittently, with a cycle of approximately 1 minute of inflow followed by 2 minutes of stoppage. The electromagnetic flowmeter requires time to stabilize its readings during inflow, and out of the 1-minute inflow period, only about 40 seconds yield accurate measurements, while the remaining 20 seconds produce unstable values. This leads to inaccurate inflow measurement, whereas the open channel flowmeter's water level measurement is accurate. The electromagnetic flowmeter technicians suggested extending the water supply duration.
