Ultrasonic Level Meter Data Fluctuation, False Alarms, and Solutions
A company in Yiwu used Dayu Electronics ultrasonic level meters to measure water level and flow. After a period of use, they found that the meter data fluctuated and false alarms occurred.
Dayu Electronics technical personnel arrived at the site and found that the cause of the data fluctuation and false alarms was a difference in PLC settings; the on-site settings had issues.
Solution: All ultrasonic level meters on site have a 10-meter range, but the actual maximum height used is only 3 meters. Change the response speed to slow, set the probe type to auto water inlet, and use the water pumps only for pumping.
The west zone is designed so that at very high water level, all three pumps start; at high water level, two pumps start; and at low water level, all three stop. Each relay corresponds to one pump. In the east zone, at very high water level, three pumps start (register 3), at high water level, two pumps start (register 2), and at low water level, an alarm is triggered (register 3). In the east zone, for two pumps, at high water level both pumps start, and at low water level both stop. Register 13 corresponds to one pump, register 2 is for the buzzer alarm, and it is set to off.
