Disadvantages of Dayu Electronics' Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flowmeters
Dayu Electronics clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are one of many technologies used to monitor the flow of fluid through pipes. These flowmeters use ultrasonic transducers and monitor velocity based on sound waves transmitted through the material in the pipe.
Disadvantages of Dayu Electronics' clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters:
They are also not ideal for situations where stray process vibrations may be present. If improper pipe maintenance occurs, such as buildup or corrosion issues, in-line ultrasonic flowmeters may not be able to be correctly calibrated to compensate for changes in pipe diameter, resulting in inaccurate measurements.
In addition, each form of ultrasonic flowmeter requires certain conditions to operate properly. For example, transmission and Doppler ultrasonic flowmeters require that the fluid involved properly conducts ultrasonic waves. Otherwise, the waves will not be able to penetrate the fluid to reach the transducer. Typically, if the fluid tends to be opaque, penetration issues may arise, leading to erroneous results.
