Calibration of Ultrasonic Flow Meters in Sewage Pipe Measurement
Improper operation leads to inaccurate calibration of ultrasonic flow meters in sewage pipe measurement:
1. Regarding the pipeline, technicians often fail to operate in accordance with standard operating procedures, such as not accurately measuring the pipe outer diameter, circumference, wall thickness, contact temperature, etc. These parameters significantly affect the correction of raw data in ultrasonic flow meters.
2. Regarding the installation method, technicians often do not select the installation method based on pipe size and signal strength, and often choose the default dual-path mode of the flow meter. The correct installation method is: for large pipes and complex environments, single-path should be used; for small pipes and very strong signals, multi-path should be selected.
3. Regarding the installation position, technicians often place the ultrasonic transducers arbitrarily and do not confirm the important measurement condition of whether the sewage in the pipe is full. The correct installation position is: the transducers should be placed at the horizontal middle position of the pipe; accurate measurement can only be achieved when the pipe is full, and vertical pipes with upward flow can ensure full-pipe flow.
In addition, important parameters such as the type and thickness of the pipe lining on site are often difficult to obtain, and these also severely affect the accuracy of the flow meter.
