Applications Where the Corrosion-Proof Ultrasonic Level Meter Is Not Suitable
Dayu ElectronicsThe corrosion-proof ultrasonic level meter, as a non-contact level meter, has unique functions that traditional level meters do not possess. Because it does not come into contact with the medium, it is commonly used in applications involving the level measurement of corrosive media.
Scenarios where the corrosion-proof ultrasonic level meter is not suitable:
1. Vacuum environments and conditions with changing propagation media (e.g., strong volatility): Ultrasonic waves are essentially mechanical waves that require a medium to propagate. Therefore, the application of ultrasonic level meters is limited and cannot be used in vacuum environments or where the propagation medium changes (e.g., strong volatility).
2. Large range and high precision requirements: As a mechanical wave, ultrasonic waves attenuate during propagation. Considering the trade-off between accuracy and range, ultrasonic level meters in practical applications have a limited measurement range and slightly lower accuracy. Therefore, they cannot be used for large-range and high-precision applications.
3. High-temperature and high-pressure environments: The transducer of a corrosion-proof ultrasonic level meter is encapsulated with piezoelectric ceramics and a plastic housing, so it cannot be used in high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. Generally, the withstand temperature of ultrasonic level meters is up to 80°C.
4. Conditions with frequent temperature changes: In practical applications, the ultrasonic level meter measures time and, combined with the speed of sound, derives the distance value (time × speed of sound = distance). However, the speed of sound changes with variations in the medium and temperature, so the corrosion-proof ultrasonic level meter cannot be used in conditions with frequent temperature changes.
