Ultrasonic Level Meter Interference Issues and Grounding Precautions

What to do when an ultrasonic level meter encounters interference on site: first identify the interference source, disconnect all wiring except for the power supply and the transducer.

Grounding requirements: connect a single wire from the grounding terminal to true earth, such as a metal pipe carrying water, a metal rod driven into the ground, or a piece of iron tied to a weight and submerged in water.

For signal line interference, add a signal isolator; for power supply interference, add an isolation transformer.

Grounding precautions:

① Do not connect to the grounding busbar of the electrical cabinet; ground it separately.

② Paint or rust on the metal pipe or metal rod used for grounding must be scraped off.

③ Check whether the transducer cable runs alongside power cables; reroute the cable if necessary and enclose the transducer cable in a metal conduit.
