Precautions for Guide Tube Installation
Dayu Electronics ultrasonic series products have the following precautions when installing guide tubes:
1. In complex working conditions with many obstructions, a guide tube is required, as pipe-mounted measurement is the only viable option.
2. Installing a guide tube will enhance the transducer's signal strength but will increase the blind zone by approximately 50–100%. For large measuring ranges, pipe installation is not recommended.
3. The inner wall of the guide tube must be free of burrs and protrusions, and must be perfectly vertical. All weld seams should be polished smooth.
4. For viscous media, do not extend the guide tube into the liquid, as the viscous medium will cause deposits to adhere to the inner wall of the tube, affecting measurement accuracy. The guide tube should also be cut at a 45° bevel and polished.
5. For non-viscous media, the entire guide tube can be inserted down to the bottom of the tank for the most accurate measurement.
