Parameters Required for Radar Level Meter Selection
Dayu Electronics tells you the parameters you need to know when selecting an ultrasonic radar level meter, mainly as follows:
1. What is the measurement range in meters, and what is the required blind zone?
2. The type of medium to be measured (liquid or solid, with specific names such as: clean water, sewage, mud, gasoline, diesel, toluene, sulfur dioxide, ore, coal, cement, soybeans, wheat, corn, flour, etc.). If it is a liquid: are there steam, fog, foam, waves, agitation, or floating objects on the surface? If it is a solid: is there dust, and is the medium granular or powdery?
3. The corrosiveness of the medium. If it is inside a tank, you need to know the tank material and whether there is an anti-corrosion lining.
4. Working environment: open pool, pool with cover, horizontal tank, vertical tank, spherical tank, and whether the tank is vented to atmospheric pressure.
5. Whether corrosion resistance or explosion proofing is required, and whether a separate or integrated version is needed.
6. The minimum and maximum temperature of the medium, and the minimum and maximum pressure.
7. Output signal: 4~20 mA current or 485 communication output, and is relay output needed?
8. Power supply: DC 24 VDC or AC 220 VAC.
9. The dielectric constant and conductivity of the medium. Based on the on-site dielectric constant and conductivity of the medium, specific parameters can be determined to decide whether to use a standard radar level meter, a precision radar level meter, or a guided wave radar level meter. If the specific dielectric constant of the conductive liquid to be measured is not less than 4, a standard radar level meter can be used. If the specific dielectric constant of the conductive liquid to be measured is not less than 2 but less than 4, a precision guided wave radar level meter can be used.
