How to Choose an Ultrasonic Level Meter in Crystallizing Environments
When measuring with an ultrasonic level meter in a crystallizing environment, check whether the on-site liquid can sublimate and then crystallize, i.e., crystallize on the transducer after evaporation. If crystallization only occurs where the liquid contacts the tank wall, or on the liquid surface, measurement is still possible—for example, with brine. If the liquid crystallizes after sublimation, meaning it crystallizes after evaporation—such as naphthalene or sulfur:
1. Determine whether crystallization occurs because the vapor temperature drops. If so, you can use steam to periodically blow the transducer emitting surface.
2. Manually wipe it with a cloth on a regular basis.
3. If the above two measures are not feasible, it is recommended to use other measurement methods.
