How to Choose an Ultrasonic Level Meter for Pools and Tanks with Agitators?
How should Dayu Electronics ultrasonic level meters be selected for pools and tanks with agitators?
1. First, check whether the propeller will be exposed above the water surface at the lowest water level. If it will not be exposed, select an ultrasonic level meter according to the standard procedure.
2. If the propeller will be exposed, how far is the outermost edge of the agitator propeller blades from the pool wall or tank wall? Is there sufficient space for the ultrasonic level meter to measure downward? If the ultrasonic level meter can measure downward without hitting the propeller, it can be used for measurement.
3. If the distance between the outermost edge of the propeller blades and the pool wall or tank wall does not leave enough space for ultrasonic level meter measurement, it may still be usable, because propellers are mostly located near the bottom, and if the customer has no requirement for bottom-level measurement accuracy.
4. If the distance between the outermost edge of the propeller blades and the pool wall or tank wall does not leave enough space for ultrasonic level meter measurement, and the customer also requires measurement of the water level below the propeller, it is recommended to install a stilling well (guide pipe) inside the tank, with the ultrasonic level meter installed inside the stilling well for measurement (make sure the stilling well is properly secured), or to install an external standpipe (bypass pipe) outside the tank wall, with the ultrasonic level meter installed inside the standpipe for measurement. The inside of the stilling well or standpipe must be smooth and even.
