What should be noted when using an ultrasonic level meter for water tank measurement?
Dayu ElectronicsUltrasonic level meter used for water tank measurement has the following precautions depending on the environment:
1. Open water tank: This is the best condition. Simply mount the instrument on a bracket extending over the tank. Based on the height from the level meter to the bottom of the tank, generally no obstacles are allowed within a radius (one-tenth of the height) centered on the level meter.
Example: If the height from the installed probe's emitting surface to the bottom of the tank is 8.00 meters, then no obstacles are allowed within a radius of 0.80 meters centered on the level meter. If the installation height is within 2 meters, no obstacles are allowed within a radius of 0.20 meters. Even if the installation height is 1 meter, the requirement of no obstacles within a radius of 0.20 meters must still be met.
2. Covered water tank with a steel plate cover.
Since steel plates are generally thin, only a few centimeters thick, you can directly cut a hole in the steel plate, install a flange, and fix the level meter probe to the flange. The minimum flange size required is DN100, and the pipe connection height must be less than 100mm. If the pipe connection height is greater than 100mm but within 180mm, the connecting flange must be DN150. And so on.
3. Covered water tank with a concrete slab cover.
Because concrete slabs are relatively thick, at least 20 centimeters, and up to 50 centimeters for thicker ones, the hole cut in the concrete slab must have a diameter greater than 60% of the slab thickness. If there is a pipe connection on top of the concrete slab, it must also be taken into account.
