Radar Level Meter Selection
Dayu ElectronicsThe media measurable by radar level meters can be divided into two major categories: solids and liquids.
The selection principle is the elimination method, choosing the most cost-effective option when performance is guaranteed, and when performance cannot be confirmed, try to choose the most reliable solution.
(1) Low-frequency radar HBRD804
HBRD804 can only measure solid bulk materials. It is only selected when the customer has strict cost control. Under the same conditions, high-frequency measurement of solids performs better than low-frequency.
(2) Guided wave radar
Guided wave radar is divided into two types: Type A has a large yellow enclosure, and Type B has a small yellow enclosure. For measuring solids, Type A is generally selected. Guided wave radar can only measure powder materials when measuring solids, because it is contact-type; the antenna cannot measure bulk materials or granules (otherwise the cable is easily broken), and due to the lateral pull force of solids, cable-type antennas must be used for solids measurement, as rod-type antennas are prone to detachment.
(3) High-frequency radar
When measuring solids, high-frequency radar can measure powder, bulk materials, and granules. The maximum range of the same radar model for powder is less than that for granules and bulk materials.
