Radar level meter, as a widely used level detection instrument, has many advantages. The beam energy of the radar level meter is relatively low and will not cause harm to the human body. However, the radar level meter also has certain limitations, mainly reflected in the influence of dielectric constant on radar. Although radar attenuation is extremely small in a vacuum, it is affected in the air. Especially when the air contains high-dielectric dust particles (such as fly ash, ferroalloy, etc.) or has very high moisture, it can cause a certain degree of attenuation to the radar, affecting the monitoring effect.
So what should be noted when installing the radar level meter?
1) The alignment mark on the flange should point toward the tank wall or the center of the tank;
2) Try to avoid interference sources such as the discharge area and agitators, ensuring that there are no fixed obstacles within the beam range to improve signal reliability;
3) Ensure that the radar antenna extends into the tank. For conventional non-contact radar, whether it is a rod antenna or a horn antenna, we need to ensure that the antenna extends at least into the tank, meaning the antenna length must be at least 10 mm longer than the nozzle;

5) Ensure that the waveguide (cable) does not touch the bottom of the tank. When the waveguide (cable) touches the bottom, it can also generate strong false echo signals. Therefore, it should be at least 1-5 cm away from the bottom of the tank;
