Ultrasonic Doppler Flowmeter Installation Conditions and Recommendations
The Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter uses the physical principle of Doppler frequency shift to measure water flow velocity. So what are the installation conditions and recommendations for installing a Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter on site by Dayu Electronics?
I. Installation Conditions
1. Ensure a minimum water level of 15 cm from the bottom of the probe upward;
2. When selecting a measurement point, choose a stable flow section and avoid turbulent or vortex areas (select a straight channel with a standard cross-section, meeting the requirement of 10 times the channel width upstream and 5 times downstream);
3. Ensure no obstacles within 1 meter in front of the probe;
4. Maintain a distance of at least 25 cm from the side walls.
II. Installation Recommendations
1. In conditions with relatively turbid water and slow flow, elevate the probe to prevent sediment buildup from clogging the pressure transmitter;
2. If there is a significant amount of solid debris in the river, install a trash rack upstream;
3. Use round pipes for the mounting bracket to minimize flow resistance;
4. It is recommended to make the bracket adjustable and detachable for easy on-site maintenance (once sediment blocks the probe's transducer, it becomes unusable).
