Corrosion-Resistant Probe Should Be Used for Explosion-Proof Ultrasonic Level Meters in Strong Acid Applications
Explosion-proof ultrasonic level meters are widely used in water and wastewater treatment: pump rooms, collection wells, biochemical reaction tanks, sedimentation tanks, and in power and mining industries: ash slurry pools, coal slurry pools, water treatment, etc. They are used to measure most liquids and powdery or granular solids, weak acids, weak alkalis, strong alkalis, and strong acids below 40%. For strong acid applications, please specify: a corrosion-resistant probe should be used.
Precautions for installing explosion-proof ultrasonic level meters:
1. If used at temperatures below -20°C or above +60°C, please contact the technical service department in advance.
2. If the instrument is used in extremely hot or cold locations, i.e., where the ambient temperature may exceed the instrument's operating requirements, it is recommended to install high/low temperature protection devices around the level meter.
3. If used in an environment with corrosive gases, an anti-corrosion outer casing must be installed, and the instrument's outer shell and wiring terminals must be tightened securely.
4. For use in environments with corrosive gases or liquids, or for seaside or offshore use, a corrosion-resistant model should be selected.
5. Conduit for wires and cables should be properly sealed to prevent water accumulation and protect against damage from rodents such as rats.
6. The ultrasonic transducer should be perpendicular to the measured liquid surface, and there must be no other obstacles within the conical range of ultrasonic emission.
7. If the operating environment has dust, steam, or mist, or if the liquid surface has foam or floating debris, or if the liquid is agitated or has waves, please contact the technical service department in advance as special considerations may be required.
8. Although the instrument comes with built-in lightning protection components, when used in lightning-prone areas, it is recommended to install additional dedicated lightning protection devices at the instrument's wiring terminals.
9. When the instrument is used outdoors, it is best to install a sunshade canopy or protective enclosure to prevent the LCD screen from aging due to prolonged sunlight exposure.
The integral explosion-proof ultrasonic level meter can adopt two-wire, three-wire, or four-wire technology, with the power supply circuit and signal output circuit independent. When powered by DC 24V, a 3-core cable can be used, with the power supply negative terminal and signal output negative terminal sharing one core. When powered by AC 220V, or when DC 24V power is used but full isolation between the power supply circuit and signal output circuit is required, a 4-core cable should be used. Both DC and AC power supply options feature 4~20mA DC output and high/low level switch outputs.
