How to Select an Integral Explosion-Proof Ultrasonic Level Meter for Different Environments
Integral explosion-proof ultrasonic level meter is a digital level instrument controlled by a microprocessor. During measurement, pulse ultrasonic waves are emitted by the sensor, reflected by the liquid surface, and then received by the same sensor, which converts them into electrical signals.
Parameters required for selecting an explosion-proof ultrasonic level meter:
1. Corrosiveness of the medium: If installed in a tank, the tank material and whether it has an anti-corrosion lining should be known.
2. Device form: split type or integral type.
3. Working environment: e.g., open pools, covered pools, horizontal tanks, vertical tanks, spherical tanks, and whether the tank is open to atmospheric pressure.
4. Minimum to maximum temperature and minimum to maximum pressure of the medium.
5. Whether explosion-proof and anti-corrosion features are required.
6. Working voltage: 24VDC or 220VAC.
7. Type of medium being measured (liquid or solid, specific name: clean water, sewage, mud, gasoline, diesel, toluene, sulfur dioxide, etc.).
8. If liquid: whether there is steam, mist, foam, waves, agitation, or floating objects on the surface. If solid: whether there is dust.
9. Output signal: 4–20mA current, 485 communication output, relay output.
10. Measurement range in meters and required blanking distance.
The integral explosion-proof ultrasonic level meter features automatic power adjustment, temperature compensation, and anti-interference functions. Due to non-contact measurement, the measured medium is almost unrestricted, making it suitable for highly corrosive media.
