Wireless Ultrasonic Water Level Meter Becomes a Hot Commodity for Manhole Sludge Cleaning
Wireless ultrasonic water level meter is a non-contact, cost-effective, and easy-to-install-and-maintain level measurement instrument. It can meet the water level measurement requirements of most municipal pipeline inspection wells without contacting the medium.
Municipal pipelines accumulate a certain amount of sludge, sand, gravel, and debris over time. The existing cleaning methods are mainly high-pressure water flushing and mechanical cleaning. The former uses high-pressure water guns to flush sludge and debris from the pipeline into the manhole, while the latter uses cables to pull a cleaning device roughly the size of the pipeline to push the sludge and debris out into the manhole, which is then ultimately removed.
Both methods can damage contact-type measurement devices, leading to a persistently high scrappage rate for such equipment. Therefore, the non-contact wireless ultrasonic water level meter is regarded as the "pearl in the palm" for municipal pipeline cleaning.
In municipal pipeline networks, manhole sludge cleaning is also a major challenge. The common method involves using a long-handled sludge scoop to manually remove sludge from the bottom of the manhole, and the workers performing the cleaning are not careful to protect underwater equipment. Even when using a suction truck's rubber hose to extract sludge, the equipment in the water can be sucked into the hose. Therefore, if a contact-type measurement method is used, the parts in contact with sewage are prone to damage. Hence, the non-contact ultrasonic water level meter is also a hot commodity.
