Doppler Flow Meters Are Suitable for Measuring Fluids Containing Solid Particles or Bubbles
Doppler flow meters operate on the principle that ultrasonic waves are scattered when they encounter tiny solid particles or bubbles along their propagation path. Because the transit-time method cannot work effectively when measuring fluids containing such substances, it is only suitable for relatively clean fluids. The Doppler method, in contrast, takes advantage of this very scattering characteristic, making it ideal for measuring fluids containing solid particles or bubbles. However, since scattering particles or bubbles are randomly distributed, the acoustic transmission properties of the fluid may also vary.

● Circulating water in power, mining, oilfield, metallurgy, chemical, petroleum refining, papermaking, and food industries; municipal wastewater treatment plants; drainage pumping stations
● Environmental monitoring, pulp, ore slurry, mud slurry, acid and alkali solutions, chemical raw materials, mortar, grinding fluid, drilling fluid, asphalt, crude oil, and municipal drainage
● Industrial wastewater, domestic sewage, oil-water mixtures, and suspended solids in pipes of various diameters and wall thicknesses.
