Working Principle of Ultrasonic Open Channel Flowmeter and Design Principle of Open Channel Flowmeter
Working principle of ultrasonic open channel flowmeter: The level gauge of the ultrasonic flowmeter should be used together with the metering box. The ultrasonic probe is installed above the metering box. The metering box converts the water flow in the open channel into a liquid level. The flowmeter measures and records the water level in the metering box, and calculates the flow rate through the corresponding water level-flow relationship. There are many methods for measuring sewage discharge, among which the ultrasonic open channel flowmeter is widely used because of its convenient use, accurate and reliable measurement.
The ultrasonic open channel flowmeter has the functions of flow display, totalization, control, transmission, and power-off protection. It is mainly suitable for measuring farmland irrigation flow, ecological flow of hydropower stations, etc.
The design principle of the ultrasonic open channel flowmeter is based on the geometric principle that the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the medium is the same as the relationship between the measured medium and the average speed of the sound wave. The ultrasonic flowmeter is a non-contact device that can be used in combination with an ultrasonic water level gauge, suitable for open and wide watersheds, with no interference and no resistance to the fluid. Therefore, it is widely used in open channel flow measurement.
