Because the ultrasonic transmission signal relies on air vibration for propagation, before pressurization, the airflow inside the tank is stable, and the ultrasonic level meter can receive the echo signal. After pressurization begins, the air pumped into the tank by the booster pump is very turbulent, disturbing the airflow inside the entire tank, which disrupts the vibration of the transmitted signal.
The ultrasonic level meter cannot receive the reflected signal from the target. (Another possibility is that after pressurized air enters, a mist-like substance forms inside the tank, causing ultrasonic scattering, which prevents the reflected signal from being received.) When the pressure reaches 3 kilograms, I heard the sound of the pressurized airflow in the tank become deeper, indicating that the power of the airflow was partially offset by the internal pressure of the tank, making it less turbulent. The disturbance to the airflow inside the tank was not as severe as at the beginning, allowing the ultrasonic level meter to receive the signal again.
Therefore, when using an ultrasonic level meter to measure liquid level in a sealed tank, if air pressurization is used, buffering should be provided before the air enters the tank to avoid affecting the ultrasonic level meter's measurement.
Since typical ultrasonic level meters do not have a display for echo measurement waveforms, it is impossible to see the status of the ultrasonic measurement.
