Ultrasonic Distance Sensor Selection Tips and Installation Precautions for Ultrasonic Distance Sensors
Ultrasonic distance sensor selection: 9 key points to keep in mind
1. The type of medium being measured, liquid or solid.
If liquid: Is there vapor, mist, foam, waves, agitation, or floating debris on the surface?
If solid: Is there dust?
2. Minimum to maximum temperature of the medium, and minimum to maximum pressure.
3. Corrosiveness of the medium. If installed in a tank, know the tank material and whether there is an anti-corrosion lining.
4. Whether explosion-proof or corrosion-proof is required.
5. The measurement range in meters and the required blind zone.
6. Working environment: e.g., open pool, covered pool, horizontal tank, vertical tank, spherical tank, and whether the tank is vented to atmosphere.
7. Working voltage: 24VDC.
8. Output signal: 4~20mA current, 485 communication output, or relay output.
9. Device form: integrated type.
Ultrasonic distance sensor installation precautions
(1) When installing the ultrasonic sensor, the emitting surface should be perpendicular to the object being measured;
(2) Do not reverse the power line and the output signal line.
