Doppler Ultrasonic Flowmeter | Measures Water Flow Velocity Using the Doppler Shift Principle
Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter measures water flow velocity based on the Doppler shift principle. Therefore, the Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter is ideal for fluids containing solid particles or bubbles, but not for clean water. Typical applications include natural rivers, man-made channels, agricultural canals, urban sewage pipelines, industrial discharge outlets, and wastewater treatment plants.

The Doppler flowmeter operates on the ultrasonic Doppler principle. Depending on the application scenario, we also refer to it as a river flowmeter, sewer flowmeter, channel flowmeter, agricultural irrigation flowmeter, or partial-full-pipe flowmeter. To measure flow velocity and flow rate in natural water bodies, there is no need to cut into pipelines to install spool-piece sensors as with electromagnetic flowmeters, no need for flow-diversion devices, and no need to install fixed weirs or flumes to direct the flow through a fixed outlet.

The ultrasonic Doppler flowmeter product consists of two parts: a transmitter and a sensor. Each part is connected by cable; if either part fails, you can simply replace that individual component. The battery pack option for the Doppler flowmeter is only used when no on-site power supply is available. The effective battery life is inversely proportional to the operating time of the flowmeter and the wireless transmitter.
