Ultrasonic Sludge Level Meter (Sludge Interface Meter) for Measuring the Interface Between Sludge and Water

　　Ultrasonic sludge level meter, also called ultrasonic sludge-water interface meter or ultrasonic sludge interface meter, is a contact-type, highly reliable, easy-to-install and maintain instrument for measuring the interface between sludge and water. It transmits ultrasonic waves through the liquid to detect the interface between underwater sludge and water. It solves the problem that fixed measurement methods cannot be used simultaneously at multiple monitoring sites.

　　Ultrasonic sludge-water interface meter uses reliable ultrasonic echo detection principles, calculating the time for the ultrasonic wave to return to the probe, thereby determining the height and thickness of the sludge layer. It effectively grasps sludge settling characteristics and enables precise control of sludge return flow. It allows operators to make real-time assessments for optimizing sludge recirculation volume, compensating for daily fluctuations in wastewater, correcting abnormal state values, and monitoring the separation layer in pre-thickening tanks.

　　Ultrasonic sludge interface meter measurement principle: The ultrasonic sludge-water interface measurement is carried out by an ultrasonic sensor installed in water, which emits a burst of ultrasonic pulses toward the underwater sludge surface. This pulse signal is reflected back upon encountering the sludge-water interface and is then received by the sensor; from transmission to re-reception, the time is proportional to the distance from the sensor to the surface of the measured object. The instrument detects this time and, based on the current temperature (measured by the sensor) and the underwater sound velocity, calculates the distance from the measured object surface to the sensor (i.e., the spatial distance), and then further converts it to a level value.
