Why Should Ultrasonic Level Meters Not Be Used to Measure Liquid Levels in Tanks Under High Pressure?
Ultrasonic level meter The main reason is that high-pressure tanks are sealed; when the water temperature is higher than the probe temperature, water vapor condenses into droplets on the probe. When ultrasonic waves pass through these droplets, refraction and reflection can alter the propagation direction, preventing the probe from receiving echoes. High pressure acting on the transducer surface also hinders effective sound wave radiation, and even microwaves cannot be emitted.

As for the transducer, most manufacturers' transducers cannot withstand high pressure due to structural limitations. The transducers produced by Dayu Electronics have been tested at 1.6 MPa and perform well.
Ultrasonic level meters and microwaves both belong to the radar product family. Due to the principles involved, ordinary power units cannot operate under high pressure. However, with increased power and special treatment, deep-sea ultrasonic devices can still work, but the cost is extremely high.
