How to Help Customers Measure Sewage Flow in Sewers Using Water Level Measurement?
Because Shenzhen planned to install ultrasonic-based sewer level gauges in Pingshan District, our engineer Mr. Liu arrived in Shenzhen on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The on-site selection of measurement points was mostly along the banks of rivers. Since most riverbanks have sewage interception pipelines, the flow inside these pipelines needed to be calculated and reported.
In the first batch, 16 manholes were selected in Pingshan District. The installed units were ultrasonic-based ultrasonic sewer level gauges.
On site, the devices were installed inside the sewers to measure the water level in the horizontal sewage interception pipelines. This data is automatically transmitted to the backend.
Based on the drawings of each manhole and the upstream/downstream sewage pipeline drawings, the backend recreates a scaled 3D model of the actual pipelines, inspection wells, stormwater wells, and sewage wells on the computer.
Using various parameters such as pipe material, slope, roughness, water level, pressure, temperature, flow direction, and rainfall, the system automatically calculates the actual flow in the pipelines.
It can identify where pipelines are clogged, where water volume is high, where pipeline load is excessive, and where pump station discharge capacity is insufficient, providing decision-making support for Shenzhen's drainage operations.
During heavy rain, typhoons, and other weather events, it can also assist in disaster prevention and mitigation.
The 5th installation point of the entire ultrasonic sewer level gauge system was at "Chi'ao Water Left Bank, Sanyang Industrial Zone (Cement Platform) ".
