Some chemical plants face challenges where standard ultrasonic level probes cannot solve actual measurement problems due to varying site conditions. Recently, a customer in Guangzhou encountered difficulty measuring tank liquid level because the installation distance was too far. This was in a chemical production workshop where an ultrasonic level meter was installed on a tank. The distance from the flange to the tank top was excessively long. If the probe was recessed inside the nozzle, measurement accuracy would be affected. At the large manhole opening on the tank being measured, the flange and nozzle height exceeded 200 mm; a standard probe could be used in that case. However, when installing the extended thin nozzle, the combined height of the flange and nozzle was significantly greater than the probe's height, causing too long a connection distance, which hindered accurate measurement of the liquid inside the tank because it far exceeded the probe's blind zone range relative to the measured liquid. In this situation, it became necessary to extend the probe to achieve proper measurement parameters.
