Partially Full Pipe Flow Meter Measures Flow at Stormwater Outfall
On November 8, the Jin'an River in Fujian began the installation of Fuzhou Dayu Electronics Technology Co., Ltd.'s partially full pipe flow meter to measure the flow from stormwater pipe outfalls on both banks of the river.
There are many stormwater pipe outlets along both banks of the river. On rainy days, street water flows into the stormwater pipes, which ultimately discharge the rainwater into the river. Due to environmental protection requirements, the water flowing into the river must be measured.

Installation site at Jin'an River
According to the installation requirements proposed by our company, before installing the flow velocity meter for pipe measurement, the client's staff specially customized a metal mounting bracket. Following the minimum installation requirement standards: in front of the sensor, there must be a straight pipe section of1.50 meters; behind the sensor, there must be a straight pipe section of0.50 meters; to ensure the basic requirements for measurement are met.

The Doppler flow meter used for river measurement consists of two parts: the sensor and the main unit. They also installed a distribution box at the nearest power source, and the main unit is placed inside the distribution box to protect it from sun and rain, making it easy to operate.

The sensor bracket and the bracket fixed on the bank are bolted together with screws. In this way, for maintenance and repair, the nuts on the bank bracket can be loosened and the sensor can be lifted out of the water.

After careful pre-installation preparation, the Doppler velocity meter and Doppler flow meter were powered on for initial testing. The data was transmitted to the backend, and the test results were stable and normal.
