Introduction to Portable Ultrasonic Level Meter
Ultrasonic waves have strong directivity, slow energy consumption, and can travel long distances in media, so they are often used to measure distance, such as in rangefinders and object measuring instruments. Ultrasonic rangefinder devices are equipped with an aiming device. Simply point the instrument at the target to be measured, and a point appears on the rangefinder display screen. The measurement is primarily based on the speed of sound; the emitted line is invisible to the naked eye.
The principle of ultrasonic distance measurement relies on the known propagation speed of ultrasound in air. It measures the time taken for the sound wave to return after hitting an obstacle, and calculates the actual distance from the emission point to the obstacle based on the time difference between transmission and reception.
Applications
Portable ultrasonic level meters are mainly used for hydrological level measurement, reverse parking assistance, construction sites, and distance measurement in industrial fields.
Ultrasonic waves propagate at different speeds in gases, liquids, and solids. They have good directivity and concentrated energy, with low attenuation during transmission and strong reflection capability. Ultrasonic waves can propagate directionally at a certain speed and reflect after encountering obstacles. By utilizing this characteristic, the actual distance can be calculated by measuring the round-trip time of the ultrasonic wave, thereby enabling non-contact distance measurement. This makes on-site measurement rapid and convenient, and it is unaffected by factors such as light. It is widely used in hydrological level measurement and position monitoring at construction sites.
