Dayu Electronics Ultrasonic Depth Sounder Application for Cross-River Pipeline Scour Monitoring
In the routine operation and maintenance of river engineering and water conservancy facilities, the safety of submerged hidden pipelines is directly related to the stability of the overall project. Recently, for a cross-river pipeline spanning 100 meters with a burial depth of 1.8 meters, Dayu Electronics customized a scientific and efficient underwater terrain survey solution to accurately assess riverbed scour above the pipeline.

Facing the 100-meter-wide river span and complex bottom environment, traditional manual wading surveys are not only inefficient but also pose significant safety hazards. To address this, Dayu Electronics recommends a collaborative operation mode using an "unmanned surface vehicle (USV) + handheld ultrasonic depth sounder."

This solution fully leverages the maneuverability and flexibility of the USV, enabling autonomous route planning and smooth traversal across the target water area. Equipped with a high-performance underwater depth sounder, it collects water depth data in real time and continuously, breaking through the limitations of traditional point-based measurements.

In actual operation, the depth sounder uses the principle of acoustic reflection to sensitively capture subtle changes in the riverbed elevation above the pipeline. Combined with the USV's automatic navigation system, operators can obtain scour depth and terrain evolution trends along the entire pipeline without entering the water. This non-contact intelligent detection method not only greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of data collection but also enables timely detection of potential scour hazards, providing a reliable basis for subsequent reinforcement and protection.
