Practicality of PVDF corrosion-resistant probes

The ultrasonic probe is installed above the Parshall flume without direct contact with the wastewater. Combined with corrosion-resistant materials, this further eliminates the risk of contamination by sewage impurities and chemical corrosion, significantly reducing maintenance frequency and replacement costs.
System Configuration and Installation Optimization

Parshall flume adaptation: The Parshall flume itself is recommended to be made of fiberglass (unsaturated polyester composite) material, which has a smooth inner surface, corrosion resistance, and is less prone to scaling, forming a perfect "dual anti-corrosion" combination with the corrosion-resistant probe.
Installation details: During installation, ensure that the ultrasonic probe is positioned at 1/3 of the upstream converging section of the Parshall flume and aligned with the centerline of the flume. The probe bracket should be made of corrosion-resistant materials (such as 316 stainless steel or plastic) to prevent probe fall due to bracket corrosion and fracture. Additionally, the probe height should be approximately 40 cm above the maximum water level, ensuring that the measurement blind zone does not affect data while preventing violent water surface fluctuations or foam from directly contacting the probe.

With the PVDF corrosion-resistant probe, a service life of over 10 years can be achieved under normal operating conditions, and it remains stable for long periods in acidic and alkaline environments.
