Dayu Electronics Ultrasonic Distance Sensor for Central Control Room Material Level Visual Monitoring
In modern industrial production and automation control, real-time monitoring of material height in containers is a key link to ensure production safety and efficiency. Recently, we have received many inquiries from customers engaged in industrial bulk material handling: "Do your ultrasonic distance sensors support data display in the central control room? We need to view the height of sand in the container in real time."

In response to this need, our answer is: absolutely! With just a "split-type display system," you can easily bridge the visual gap between the field and the central control room.
To meet the customer's need for centralized monitoring in the control room, we can completely customize a split-type main unit with a display. This architecture is in line with our mature Dayu Electronics level gauge instrument system, adopting the design concept of "separating the probe from the main unit."

1. Field probe (sensing layer): Our ultrasonic distance sensor is installed at the top of the sand silo, responsible for transmitting and receiving sound waves to accurately measure the empty height.
2. Split-type main unit (control layer): This is the core of the solution. We configure an independent split-type main unit with a display for you. It acts like a "data relay station," responsible for receiving signals from the sensor and converting them into intuitive numerical values.
You can install this main unit directly on the instrument panel in the central control room. This way, operators can sit in the office and see the real-time changing numbers on the screen at a glance, accurately grasping the remaining height of sand in the container without needing to climb up and down for on-site checks.

In addition to local display, this main unit also provides standard signal output interfaces: 4~20mA current, RS485 communication, etc., which can be directly connected to the PLC or DCS system in the central control room. This means you can view the sand level in real time on the central large screen, and also achieve automatic alarms, interlocking control, and data recording and analysis.
Special note for sand measurement – good performance requires proper selection
It is particularly important to note: sand is a solid particle, and its reflection ability to ultrasonic waves is weaker than that of a water surface. Especially for coarse sand or sand containing gravel, the particles have sharp edges and corners, causing more obvious sound wave scattering, which significantly affects echo energy. Therefore, when selecting the model, it is recommended that the range be at least 1.5 to 2 times the actual full-scale to ensure stable signal capture.

This split-type display solution not only realizes remote visualization of data, but also greatly enhances the convenience of on-site management. Operators no longer need to frequently travel back and forth to the production site; they can stay in the central control room and have a clear view of the sand silo level at a glance, thereby more precisely controlling the feeding and discharging rhythm.
Dayu Electronics has been deeply engaged in the field of ultrasonic sensing for many years, not only providing high-performance distance sensors, but also committed to offering flexible customization services to customers. If you are looking for a sand level monitoring solution that can be connected to the central control room for remote real-time display, please feel free to contact our technical team.
