In the wave of smart city development, the digitalization and refinement of sanitation operations have become key to improving urban management efficiency. To address customer requirements for top-mounted installation on trash bins and measuring the height of waste inside, especially under complex conditions such as accumulated water and dust, as well as strict demands for small blind zones and high precision, Dayu Electronics, leveraging its deep technical expertise, recommends the ultrasonic dual-probe distance sensor. Small blind zone, wide vision: accurately capturing every inch of space
Single-probe ultrasonic sensors have a large blind zone in close-range measurements, making it difficult to accurately identify waste height near the bin opening. Our ultrasonic dual-probe distance sensor, through its innovative dual-probe design, effectively overcomes this technical bottleneck. Its blind zone is only ≤50mm, far below the customer's requirement of ≤0.1 meters, meaning the sensor can accurately detect waste height as close as 10cm from the bin opening, ensuring no missed or false alarms due to excessive blind zones, providing a solid technical guarantee for waste overflow warnings.

Strong anti-interference, unafraid of complex environments
The internal environment of a trash bin is complex and variable; impurities such as accumulated water and dust can seriously affect the measurement accuracy and stability of the sensor. This sensor employs advanced signal processing algorithms and anti-interference design, effectively filtering out environmental noise and clutter. Even with water or dust inside the bin, it maintains high-precision distance measurement, ensuring data authenticity and reliability. Its distance detection range reaches ≤2000mm, fully meeting the 2-meter range requirement, with a distance resolution of 0.5mm and distance accuracy up to 0.5%FS, accurately identifying subtle changes in waste height.

Considering the customer's top mounting hole diameter of 8cm, our sensor is designed with a compact structure. The product adopts an integrated structure with small dimensions, easily fitting into the 8cm mounting hole without taking up excessive space. Additionally, the sensor comes standard with RS485 (Modbus-RTU protocol) output, facilitating data acquisition and system integration. Its operating voltage is 24VDC±10%, with reverse polarity protection, response delay <100ms, and signal acquisition frequency ≤10Hz, enabling rapid response to waste height changes.

To ensure stable operation in various harsh environments, we have designed the sensor with a wide operating temperature range and high protection rating (IP68). This means the sensor can operate normally under extreme temperatures and has excellent waterproof and dustproof capabilities, withstanding rain and sand intrusion for long-term stable operation.
