From Sewage Wells to Manholes: Multi-Scenario Applications of the Compact Ultrasonic Doppler Flowmeter
In narrow and complex drainage scenarios such as sewage wells, pipelines, stormwater pipes, and manholes, the miniaturization, ease of installation, and high stability of flow monitoring equipment are key to ensuring accurate data acquisition. The Dayu Electronics Compact Ultrasonic Doppler Flowmeter is specially designed for such scenarios. Through a split configuration of the main unit and sensor, it enables simultaneous acquisition of flow velocity, water level, and temperature, along with flow calculation, making it an ideal device for urban pipe network drainage flow monitoring.

The main unit collects flow velocity, water level, and temperature data from the ultrasonic Doppler velocimeter via the RS485 interface. Combined with the on-site channel parameters and the measured water level, it calculates the cross-sectional area of flow. The instantaneous flow rate is then obtained by multiplying the cross-sectional area by the flow velocity, and the cumulative flow is calculated over time, enabling precise full-process flow data statistics.

The device features a split structure design. The sensor and transmitter housings are made of corrosion-resistant materials, with protection ratings of IP68 and IP65, respectively, capable of withstanding harsh on-site conditions such as humidity and sewage immersion. It comes standard with a dedicated cable incorporating an air vent tube, ensuring long-term stable underwater operation. The cable length can also be customized and extended based on on-site requirements.

In terms of power supply and communication, the Compact Ultrasonic Doppler Flowmeter supports wide-voltage power input, features an RS485 communication interface compatible with the MODBUS standard protocol, and also supports 4~20mA signal output. It can seamlessly integrate with PLCs, data loggers, and monitoring platforms, enabling real-time data transmission and remote management.

The Dayu Electronics Compact Ultrasonic Doppler Flowmeter has a wide range of applications, including sewage well flow monitoring, pipeline drainage monitoring, stormwater pipe flow monitoring, and manhole flow monitoring. It is also suitable for flood disaster monitoring, municipal water supply and drainage management, water loss monitoring, and road drainage monitoring, providing reliable data support for urban drainage pipe network operation and flood early warning.
During installation, the equipment must be adapted to the on-site conditions according to the model specifications. Pay attention to the device installation angle, applicable pipe diameter, and water level conditions to ensure the sensor is positioned correctly and to avoid affecting measurement accuracy.
